A RIGHT ILIAC FOSSA MASS - A PERFORATED ILEAL GASTRO-INTESTINAL STROMAL-TUMOUR

GASTRO-INTESTINAL STROMAL-TUMOURs (GASTRO-INTESTINAL STROMAL-TUMOURs) are tumours of the gut found mostly in stomach and small intestine. The complications Gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding, obstruction, pain rarely perforation. We reporting an abnormal presentation STROMAL-TUMOURS presenting as acute abdomen with Right Iliac Fossa (RIF) mass 57-year-old male. Contrast Enhanced Computed Tomography (CECT) revealed a peripherally enhancing encapsulated abscess RIF close to base caecum surrounding peritonitis suggesting caecal On laparotomy, perforated ileal was identified. Pathological examination confirmed tumour be STROMAL-TUMOUR spindle cell type, further reiterated by immunohistochemistry. Our case report emphasizes, rare differential diagnosis mass, have high clinical suspicion when similar is encountered emergency room, keeping mind poor outcome caused delay appropriate management disease.
